You are able to accept shifts from other employees through the "Team Center". Shifts can only be accepted by employees with the appropriate position. For example, a cashier shift can only be accepted by employees with the cashier positions. Managers to managers, cooks to cooks. Employees are able to have multiple jobs/positions which would give them the ability to accept shifts from a variety of different employees.
